Last week I had the opportunity to stay at the TRS Ibiza Hotel, which is an brand new, all inclusive, adults only resort in San Antonio.

The hotel has been open less than a month, right in time for the Ibiza season.

The hotel has a modern, neutral feel throughout, with a splash of red on the pillows and around the pool area. The rooms are a good size, the bed is big enough so that you don’t need to touch your partner in the heat of Spain and the balcony is a perfectly placed to watch the sunset. If your looking for some privacy, then a private pool, two story terrace room may be the best choice for you and your partner.

The TRS Ibiza hotel has 3 pools, most days I sat around the main pool as the others are a little quiet. The main pool has a bar, daily entertainment and great music; and if your an early riser you will be lucky enough to get double bed sun-lounger.

One thing I liked the most is that the staff come round to take drink orders, which you don’t see in the majority of all - inclusive hotels.

For the price point, all-inclusive at TRS is a no brainier, considering it costs around the same price as any other luxury hotel in Ibiza without any meals included. The breakfast was good quality, however, the choice was limited. The drinks menu was varied enough, and unlike some all-inclusive, the cocktails were well made, rather than just slushies with vodka. The only thing which I found unusual for an all-inclusive resort is that there wasn’t any day time snacks in between breakfast, lunch and dinner; no where to get ice cream or a nibble.

The resort is made up of 3 restaurants, Gaucho (Argentinian), Helios (Mediterranean) and Capriccio (Buffet). Gaucho was outstanding, the outside area was romantic and overlooked the pool. And, to anyone going I highly recommend the meat platter to share. The deserts, although nice, were unusual. The desert menu included a trio of carrots - all prepared differently; and a coconut and mango mousse. Helios, perhaps could do with some work… it didn’t really reflect the Mediterranean cuisine like I thought it should have, and the flavours weren’t exactly complimentary. We had this for lunch, and to be honest, were still hungry after.

The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, offering a glass of cava on arrival and always with a smile of their face. However, you can see that they are little trained, perhaps most of them young and not worked in a hotel before.

Overall, the TRS Ibiza Hotel is the perfect secret escape in the heart of Ibiza. I throughly enjoyed my stay and with only a few teething problems, this is the perfect resort in Ibiza for couples and friends looking for the best of all Ibiza has to offer.
