The Members Club of Marbella

Last week, we went to review one of the most luxurious hotels located on the southern coast of Spain. Marbella Club is an elegant resort that combines classic glamour with modern amenities and offers a unique experience to its guests. Being the first hotel to ever open in Marbella in the 1950’s, there’s a reason why our top clients choose to stay at Marbella time & time again.

The location of Marbella Club Hotel is outstanding. It is situated on the famous Golden Mile, a stretch of coastline between Marbella and Puerto Banus. This location allows guests to enjoy the stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea while being in close proximity to the vibrant city of Marbella, with Puerto Banus and Marbella Town both just a 5 minute drive away. But it doesnt feel like that at all. As soon as you step into the complex, you can quite easily forget your in prime Costa del Sol.

The Facilities

So, what would we find in this outstanding property? Other than family sized villas & accomodation, Marbella Club Hotel is a designer lovers paradise! Home to a number of boutiques including Louis Vuitton, Bottega, & the first Chanel store in Marbella (opening April this year!)

Other than the shopping, Marbella Club offers a range of dining options including; The Beach Club Restaurant that is a must-visit! It offers fresh seafood dishes and stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. For those who enjoy Asian cuisine, the hotel's signature restaurant MC Café serves a fusion of Japanese and Mediterranean flavors. The Grill Restaurant is perfect for those looking for a classic steakhouse experience, while the Newley opened, romantic El Patio Restaurant offers a romantic atmosphere with its candlelit tables and garden setting.

Breakfast was one of our favourite moments during our stay at this property. As the title says, The Members Club of Marbella, because this hotel really does feel just like that! You‘ll find that many guests are already well acquainted, everyone says good morning to one another, and the hotel managers will come & speak to you to see if you need anything booked or planned for the day. I would be lying if I didn’t mention there was champagne at breakfast, which is also why it was one of my favourite moments, what better way to start the day!

And lastly, we cannot talk about the facilities here without mentioning the array of wellness activities & options Marbella Club has to offer. The hotel has a world-class spa that offers an array of treatments, including massages, facials, and body treatments. There are also several sports facilities, including a golf course, tennis courts, and a fitness centre. After booking, you will also receive a timetable of included classes such as outdoor Pilates & nutritionist talks.

The History

As mentioned earlier, Marbella Club Hotel has a rich history that dates back to the 1950s when it was founded by the German Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe. The hotel manager explained to us that at first, with Marbella being completely scarce of all it has to offer today, the owner struggled to convince travellers to come. But after a number of visits from Hollywood stars inclusing Audrey Hepburn & Grace Kelly, this quickly become a hot spot for everyone else.

The Accommodation

Marbella Club Hotel offers an array of luxurious accommodations that are designed to cater to the needs of different guests. There are 121 rooms and suites that are elegantly decorated and furnished with modern amenities. Some of the rooms have private balconies or terraces that offer breathtaking views of the sea or the hotel's lush gardens.

Our personal opinion is that the rooms give a seaside home feel. They are all pleasantly secluded, yet just moments away from the facilities that the hotel has to offer. However beautiful the complex and accommodations are, we do feel like the bathrooms could use a refurb to offer a more modern approach, however, our older clients may prefer more of a Spanish villa decor which alot of hotels in the area still offer.

Guests can choose to stay in a Deluxe Room, Suite or for families, a Villa is the most appropriate option. The Marbella Club Villas offer private heated pools, 3-4 bedroom’s with en-suites, kitchens and a Villa Host who will manage everything for your stay along with us.
