Spa Days in Sussex

This week our team had the pleasure of staying at The South Lodge Spa. A luxurious and tranquil retreat located in Horsham, West Sussex, UK. Nestled within 93 acres of stunning countryside, this five-star hotel offers a truly idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The hotel boasts 89 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, all of which offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside. We were gifted with the Tanzan suite, which was extremely roomy to our delight. Our room was equipped with all the amenities you could need for a

comfortable stay, including flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and luxurious bedding. The décor boasts English countryside, with wooden, simplistic yet elegant furniture.

My evening was spent with the hotel manager and sales team, learning about there exciting upcoming refurbishments, which includes 8 lodges being built this summer near the lake; perfect for secluded romantic weekends or family staycations. Along with learning more about the property, we also had a lesson into cocktail making which was great fun before a 5 course English dinner paired with champagne and red wine.

But as you can imagine, the best part of this stay was the next morning at the spa. The award-winning spa offers a range of treatments designed to soothe and rejuvenate both body and mind. On this occasion, we didn’t have time to experience the treatments, but we made well use of the spa facilities; including: a Steam Room, Aroma Room, a Sauna overlooking the premises and a large indoor pool.

Outside, you will find: a pool sizes Jacuzzi, sun beds and my personal favourite, the natural lake pool. The few hours in the spa were truly revitalising and I highly recommend for any spa day!

All the relaxing made us hungry, so before heading home we had breakfast in the Botanica Restuarant. South Lodge is home to 2 restaurants, Camellia in the main estate and Botanical in the Spa. Camellia is where we dined in the evening, its much more traditional offering British cuisine at a candlelight setting. Boatnica on the other hand takes a more modern approach to the design and menu; offering dishes such as quinoa breakfast bowls and vegan burgers, Botanica is a vegan friendly, sustainable dining space, with great views of the spa and fields, and as explained by the hotel manager, recently decided to go diary free.

Whether you're looking for a relaxing weekend break, a spa day with friends, or a luxurious conference venue, this hotel ticks all the boxes. With its stunning location, excellent facilities, and top-notch service, South Lodge is definitely worth a visit.
