Review

The Zaffron resort Santorini is an adults-only, boutique resort which opened August 2021. Situated in Kamari, south of the island, right next to the beach.

On check-in, staff were very welcoming, in fact, the staff throughout our stay were excellent! They spoke fluent English, were professional yet personable and always helped with a smile on their faces.

I would use the term resort lightly for here, there is 2 restaurants, a Buffet and Italian and two main swimming pools – however, the hotel, being adults only, and its boho-chic décor gives it a very intimate atmosphere.

My partner and I stayed in a private pool suite, the rooms were spacious and the private garden area was spectacular! We agreed that our favourite part of the hotel was the plunge pool, it gave us time to relax and spend time with each other while still soaking up the sun. The only recommendation I would have to the hotel is making the plunge pools heated, we came to Santorini in September, the weather was a little windy but the main pools were still warm.

Breakfast were in the buffet, where you had the choice to sit inside or out. Now, typically I am not a fan of breakfast buffets in resorts, but I couldn’t fault it here. The choices weren’t too much, however the food was good quality, and other options such as eggs benedict and omelettes could be made for you fresh upon request.

Most of our days itinerary consisted of relaxing by our private pool, followed by lunch on the beach and then back to the main pool for sun and lots of cocktails. The Radisson has really hit the nail on the head with their cocktails!

In the evenings, we would choose between dinner on the promenade or in the hotel, but first, as always, espresso martini’s in the hotel bar.

I cant miss out the Italian, which seemed odd for a Greek hotel, but nevertheless it did not disappoint. The Zefferino, a privately run restaurant, first opened in Genova, Italy specialises in small, traditional dishes. All pasta is el-dente, creamy and the menu is small, which I think is always a sign of well made food.

The hotel is not directly on the beach, it’s a 5 minute walk. Its in a perfect location full of local shops and restaurants, ideal for lovers of Greek food!

I can confidently say that the Zaffron Resort is the best hotel I have been to, and I cannot wait to book again for myself, friends and amazing clients! It’s the perfect mix a resort with much to do, and an intimate family run hotel.
