After a few months of cultural, corporate and city trips I decided it was time for a relaxing vacation… and where better to do so than on the white sandy beaches of The Caribbean.

We have had many clients visit Punta Cana over the recent months, so I wanted to try it out myself. We decided to stay at the Grand Bavaro Princess, a 5 Star All Inclusive Resort.

The resort itself has multiple restaurants, bars and pools, the ideal place for a family holiday!

We arrived late on Wednesday evening and headed straight to our room, which was perfectly situated next to the main pool, right by the beach! Around the main pool you had the beach bar, beach snack vans, a few small gift shops and most importantly… a swim up bar!

The rooms were clean and appropriate, personally, I would prefer something a little more modern, but the views of the beach and palm trees and the large standing bathtub made up for it!

On the other side of the resort, a 10 minute walk through the palm tree forest you have the reception, another bar and more restaurants which seem to float above a flamingo lake, swimming with flamingos!

The Grand Bavaro Princess is home to the following restaurants: an Indian, a Pizzeria, a Mexican, a steakhouse, 2 buffets’, an Italian, a teppanyaki, a sushi bar and fish restaurant. As we only had 5 nights away, we tried the Indian, teppanyaki, Italian, Mexican and fish restaurants. My favourite was by far the Indian, as it was decorated beautifully, and the food was delicious! But the menu’s in each dining area were great, however could be a little bigger.

We spent most of our days alternating between the beach and pool, which was easy as they were right by each other. For lunch, we typically opted for the fresh beach BBQ, each day they cooked something different and options included chicken, salads, stir fry’s, sushi and more!

Because of the time difference (4 hours ahead) most days I watched the sunrise which was beautiful and ended up sleeping by 10pm, but the one night we did watch the night entertainment is was something! The staff were like something off of CBeebies, jumping around, getting the crowd going and dancing their socks off!

Overall, the holiday was just what I wanted, relaxing and good food! The resort is best targeted towards families rather than couples and I would rate the hotel 4 star rather than 5, however, I find this typically for Caribbean resorts anyway.
