I second guessed doing a review of The Cave Hotel, considering most of our audience have already visited, we have booked this hotel more times this year than any other! But after visiting, I understand why! It’s the perfect romantic getaway and I’m very grateful for being invited to review the property.
Our room was a Family Suite, very spacious, with a lovely golf view. A few things stood out in the room, which include: The bed – extremely cosy; The fireplace – great touch and very romantic; the free-standing bathtub – because don’t we all hope for this when checking in… and lastly, 2 tv’s one facing the bed and the other the sofa (I just wonder how you watch both at the same time...)
The Cave Hotel has 2 restaurants, the Korean Cowgirl and The Firepit, I had heard great things about both, so it wasn’t an easy decision, but as Korean is more casual, typical me opted for the luxury option… and it didn’t disappoint!
The Firepit Restaurant is a mixture of meat, fish and vegetable dishes in a tapas style and made to share. We ordered the ribs, sea bass, truffle mash, broccoli and prawns. Its not an understatement when I say this was probably the best meal I have ever had. The food had so much flavour and each dish complemented incredibly.
After dinner, we decided to have a few glasses (maybe bottles) of wine outside, overlooking the restaurant and golf course. Even though it was chilly, the fire-pits kept us warm. The Cave Hotel is a great location just for dinner, drink and some shisha too, and considering it was a Thursday it was very lively!
Lastly, the Spa, now considering most couple would go to the Cave to enjoy dinner and a spa staycation I was expecting more, the spa is very small, sauna not very hot and there are only 4 loungers so if its busy you won’t be sitting. However, on a plus note, The Cave have confirmed they have plans in place to expand the spa which will be incredible!
